Brief Description:  Landing gear box assembly #1

Started off by getting the parts for the gear tower assemblies together and then seperating the aft and forward corner angles.

I clecoed everything together to see what it would look like, the removed all the parts and fluted the F-802A-R/L-1 and the F-802B-R/L-1. WHen the wledment was attached, you could see the need to flute the parts as tehre was approximately 1/4 inch gap.

The parts were clecoed back together for the the left and right gear towers and all of the #30 holes were matched drilled along with the #40 holes.

Once the parts were matched drilled, I taped a template for the F-802C R/L and confirmed the distances and dimensions. Once satisifed, I match drilled the screw holes in the template to the F-802C's. Once done, I then attached nutplates and match drileld for the #40 holes.

The modification is common with RV-8s inorder to allow for more room in the gear tower to torque nuts/bolts and just have more access to do work.
